Casio | 1st Gen Wrist Camera | WQV-1 | Rp 5.800.000 | | est. 2000's | Watch Only | 35x50mm | Sports Watch | Quartz

The Casio WQV-1 Wrist Camera, released in 2000, was the world's first wristwatch equipped with an integrated digital camera. It features a 0.028-megapixel CMOS sensor capable of capturing images in a 16-step grayscale. The device has a 1MB internal memory that stores up to 100 photos, which are displayed on a 120×120 pixel monochrome STN LCD.

For data transfer, the watch utilizes an infrared (IR) beam to transmit images to other WQV-1 units or a PC, though computer connectivity originally required a dedicated "PC Link" software and hardware kit.

Emerging as a dominant player during the transition to quartz, Casio made the wristwatch from a fragile accessory into a specialized tool. Beginning with the Casiotron in 1974 and resulting in the genesis of the G-Shock in 1983, the Japanese manufacturer pioneered shock resistance and multi-functional digital watches.
