Commissioned by Indonesian President Sukarno for the 1962 Asian Games, the Garuda Jetmaster houses a Swiss-sourced 21-jewel mechanical ebauche within a heavily case with lyre lugs. This localized branding strategy utilized imported components, verifiable by the shockproof and waterproof designations printed below the central pinion on the matte black dial. Time is tracked via faceted arrow markers and a red-tipped sweep seconds hand that traverses the inner perimeter beneath a scratched acrylic crystal.

The Garuda brand was established in 1962 at the behest of Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno, who sought a domestic watch brand of international quality. While Garuda is a distinct Indonesian entity named after the country's national symbol, historical models typically utilized Swiss movements, specifically from Ronda.
