Baltic | Bicompax 002 Black Dial | | | Sold | est.2021 | Watch and Box | 38mm | Dress Chronograph | Manual Wind Chronograph

The design approach for the Baltic Bicompax 002 is rooted in 1940s vintage chronograph aesthetics, blended with Art Deco influences. This is manifested in a 38mm stainless steel "step case," which features a mix of finishes: horizontal brushing on the case middle, circular brushing on the lugs, and a polished bezel. For the black dial variant, the design emphasizes texture and contrast. The dial is a "sector dial," featuring a glossy black center and a circular-brushed outer ring where the applied numerals are placed. The watch is powered by the manual-wind Seagull ST1901, a column-wheel chronograph movement

Based in France, Baltic was founded by Etienne Malec in 2016 and has become a definitive leader in the microbrand sector. The brand's philosophy is built on neo-vintage design, translating the aesthetics of mid-century timepieces—particularly from the 1940s—into modern, accessible watches. This is achieved by sourcing components from Asia, including reliable movements like the Japanese Miyota 9039 or the Chinese Hangzhou micro-rotor for the MR01, with all timepieces being assembled and regulated in France.
